Australian Academy of the Humanities

Publications Subsidy Scheme The Academy 's Publication Subsidy Scheme provides support of up to $3000 for the publication of subsidy works of high quality in the humanities. Preference will be given to Australian humanities scholars in the early stages of their careers. Applications close 10 April 2013

Crawford Medal nominations are now open. This is Australia's most prestigious award for achievement and promise in the humanities. It is presented to an Australian-based early-career scholar working and publishing in the humanities, whose publications contribute towards an understanding of their discipline by the general public. Nominations closed Tuesday 31 July 2012.

McCredie Musicological Award. This award is granted on the basis of work which leads to outstanding contribution in musicology. Recipients need to be Australia-based, and their work must have been conducted in an Australian university.  Nominations for this award will not be open until 2015-2016.

Humanities Travelling Fellowships The Academy's Humanities Travelling Fellowship scheme provides support of up to $4,000 to enable early career researchers to undertake research overseas, including accessing archives and other research materials and connecting with international researchers and networks.  Applications close 10 April 2013

Getty Library Research Grants provide partial, short-term support for costs relating to travel and living expenses to scholars whose research requires use of specific collections housed in the Getty Research Institute.
 
Eligibility
Library Research Grants are intended for scholars of all nationalities and at any level who demonstrate a compelling need to use materials housed in the Research Library, and whose place of residence is more than eighty miles from the Getty Center. Projects must relate to specific items in the library collection.
 

Terms
Library Research Grants are intended to provide partial support for costs relating to travel and living expenses. Grants range from $500 to $2,500, depending on the distance traveled. The research period may range from several days to a maximum of three months, but must take place between February 15, 2013, and January 15, 2014. These terms apply as of June 2012 and are subject to future changes.
